Diana
Diana has been working in palliative care for almost 30 years both as a nurse and an educator. Most recently working as a Community Palliative Care Nurse Specialist (similar to a Macmillan Nurse) in London and the home counties, working both in the NHS and a Hospice setting. Previously she lived and worked in Uganda training health professionals in palliative care, and more recently helping with palliative care projects in India.
As part of a research project on Dignity Therapy in palliative care, Diana worked as a Dignity Therapist interviewing and then compiling a legacy document. This document, was a narrative of the interviewees significant meaningful experiences, thoughts and values, which was then printed and given to the interviewee and their significant other.
Being very interested in the spiritual aspects of holistic care, Diana undertook a Diploma in Practical Spirituality and Wellness, and has deepened her understanding of the more esoteric aspects of dying through training with Felicity Warner and is now registered as a Soul Midwife.
Diana has facilitated several Death Cafes for the general public, with the aim of encouraging people to talk more openly about death and dying and to normalise these conversations. She also volunteers at the local Buddhist Centre, is learning Tai Chi and practices yoga. She is currently learning to use sacred oils to help release deep emotions in the last phase of life.
Diana has a gentle, open minded, positive disposition, she has good listening skills and is person centred and holistic in her approach. She has no strong religious beliefs and has experience of living in a diversity of cultures.
Testimonials
“Diana is a gifted spiritual guide. She recently spent time with a small group of us talking about death and dying from a spiritual dimension. Her voice, manner and wisdom are very soulful and you come away feeling as though dying will be okay, and you have been reassured by a real life angel. Diana not only companions the soul of the person dying, but is calming and supportive for the loved ones and family in their grief and fear. And for those of us who are elderly and can see death on the horizon, her talks help put dying in another perspective and allow us to explore how we would want to die. I plan to have Diana with me, even if it is a Zoom call.”
Judy Rich, 76, former life coach, now grandmother and writer.
“Diana has supported me over the past four months during which time I was under considerable stress from nursing my mother at home. My mother had been suffering from complex symptoms despite treatment with the standard pharmaceutical drugs.
Through the combination of many years of palliative care nursing, along with Soul Midwifery, Diana has helped provide some insight into the complex psycho-spiritual nature of my mother’s symptoms, these discussion have assisted me to understand my mother distress as I try to unravel this highly difficult situation.”

“Diana’s quiet, open manner enabled me to talk about my innermost thoughts within a very short time of meeting her. Her years of experience in palliative care and her obvious depth of spiritual understanding make her the ideal companion for a final journey. She knows the various routes and every bump in the road. The way would be smoother and less stressful with Diana on board for friends and family as well as the traveller. I look forward to having her as my guide.”
